Now accepting applications for our Mining for Excellence scholarship program

For several years in Minnesota, PolyMet Mining has been investing in students who excel in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), since they are the future of industry in our region.

We’ve proudly awarded $5,000 and $2,500 Mining for Excellence scholarships to eleven Minnesota high school students. The scholarship recipients have shown incredible achievements in robotics, science fairs, internships and academic projects. Now, our first winners are graduating from college.

All Mining for Excellence scholarship recipients have had goals of working in STEM-related fields such as civil/environmental engineering, computer science, environmental science and more, where they could continue driving our industry forward. Some may eventually become PolyMet team members!

Now is your chance to recommend a deserving student or apply yourself for Mining for Excellence scholarships to be awarded in March.

Deadline to apply is January 3, 2020.

As in years past, we will be announcing the recipients during the Minnesota State High School hockey tournament live TV broadcast.

This time of year is exciting for us as we look forward to reviewing the accomplished applicants and awarding scholarships to Minnesota’s best and brightest through the PolyMet Mining for Excellence program.
